American-Palestinian Teenager Released After Nine-Month Period in Israel's Detention

A Palestinian-American teenager after completing 270 days in imprisonment by Israel absent formal charges was released.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 at the time of his arrest last February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing from his Florida home for allegedly throwing stones against settlement residents, which he previously denied.

The US state department applauded the teenager's freedom.

Mohammed, now 16, required hospitalization right after being freed, relatives told the media.

According to them, he appears visibly pale and thin, and experiencing medical problems developed during imprisonment.

Through an official statement, Mohammed's uncle conveyed their "overwhelming sense of relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" throughout the past nine months.

"At this moment, we are focused on getting Mohammed urgent medical care he needs after being subjected to Israel's abuse and brutal treatment for months."

American authorities stated they would maintain to offer diplomatic assistance to Mohammed's family.

{"US government authorities has no higher priority to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," officials stated.

Several congressional representatives endorsed a document to the state department and the White House, demanding more be done to release him.

Mohammed's parent, with four children who runs an ice cream business in Florida, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt about rock throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.

He had not seen nor direct contact since February, and only heard regarding the treatment in detention through court documents.

Mohammed was held lacking indictment in Ofer prison in the West Bank.

Additionally housing grown detainees, some of whom have been convicted regarding severe security violations and homicide.

An estimated 350 Palestinian child security detainees being held in Israeli jails, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Numerous remain uncharged along with monitoring agencies, including UN bodies, document cases involving physical abuse and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said the family would also continue fighting seeking justice for their relative Sayfollah Musallet.

This young American-Palestinian per medical officials died from beating by radical settlers following tensions in July.

At the time, defense forces stated authorities were looking into reports a Palestinian civilian had been killed.

The two cousins were employed together in the family ice cream shop in Tampa, Florida.

No charges have been filed regarding Sayfollah's death.

"We demand US authorities to safeguard our relatives," Mr Kadur said.
