Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night stating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in communication with the league office.
The organization omitted the name of the player by name in their statement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.
Allegations Shared on Instagram
The woman, who also did not mention the athlete directly, posted a series of photos on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She stated the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Player's Recent Legal Issues
Rice was absent for the first six games of this season following an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, he finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
