Two Charged In Connection With Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
These accusations come after an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. Several persons required hospital care and were later discharged.
The incident – described by police as was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
